Eni Popoola Enigivensunday

I am a Nigerian- American beauty, style, and lifestyle blogger currently living in my hometown of New York City. While I’m currently a student at Columbia Law School, I worked as a 7th grade U.S. History teacher in Harlem after graduating from Harvard University with a degree in Government and Sociology. When I’m not waiting in line at Sephora, reading a good book, or whipping up a plate of Jollof Rice, you can catch me in front of the camera for #EniGivenSunday!

Why did you start a blog?

After I graduated from college and moved back home, Sundays at church became a welcomed opportunity to experiment with different styles and outfits. What started as a hobby expressed through Sunday style posts turned into #EniGivenSunday when I finally built the courage to jump into the world of  blogging. Since then I’ve switched gears a bit because I’m so much more passionate about beauty and lifestyle content. Now, I’m so excited for the opportunity to share my voice and passion with all of you!

What’s the story behind the name #EniGivenSunday?

For as long as I can remember, I had gotten used to finding clever ways to make others understand how to pronounce my name. Phrases like “Eniway” and “Enithing is possible,” made it easier and less awkward to correct those who thought my name was “Annie”.  And so it was only a matter of time before I’d come up with #EniGivenSunday, right?  Not quite. As much as I’d love to, I can’t take credit for creating the hashtag. #EniGivenSunday came to fruition when a friend slipped the idea into the comments of one of my Instagram’s weekly Sunday style posts. The rest is history in the making!
