Quarantine Blog Post Ideas: Ideas for at Home Content

At the start of all the COVID-19 mayhem, it seemed like many people were giving influencers and content creators negative feedback for creating content. I think a lot of the feedback came with a lack of understanding that for many influencers, this is what they do for a living. I can totally understand how it can feel insensitive or tone deaf to try and turn a situation like the one we are in into nothing more than a marketing scheme. But I can also say that for me, creating content wasn’t about the money, it was and still is a form of self- expression. Now, if you’re a content creator who’s been stumped or uninspired lately, but are desperately looking to get back into things, I’ve provided a list of beauty and lifestyle quarantine blog post ideas. These can be adapted to whatever platform you share the most on.

But also, don’t forget that you can feel free to create the content you normally create. Everything you put out doesn’t have to revolve around this pandemic, so if you’re not in the mood for that, do what makes sense for you.

Beauty Quarantine Blog Post Ideas

  • Almost Forgotten — a makeup look using products that you forgot you had or have but don’t use often
  • Viewer’s Choice — let your followers choose your makeup routine! (Give them options and poll them on the product they want you use for each step of the routine)
  • Au naturale — a “no makeup” makeup look for those important zoom meetings
  •  Beauty on a budget — put together a makeup look that costs less than xxx dollars (this one is always relevant but especially relevant if you see yourself or your audience needing to make some budget adjustments in the future)
  • Extreme makeover — share how you’ve organized or reorganized your beauty space
  • Sample sized — have a bunch of samples or travel sized skincare? Put them to use before they expire by filming or documenting  a routine using samples and give your first impression.
  • Save your coin — if you’ve got any expensive or overpriced beauty products that weren’t worth it, give your audience a heads up!
  • DIY — have you given yourself services that you normally received outside? (waxing, nails, eyebrows etc.) Share tips, tricks, and hacks for how you’ve been grooming yourself at home.
  • Let’s face it — give yourself an at home facial, yes, with steam and everything! Share the process and result.
  • That’s that stuff I don’t like — do you have makeup products that just never moved on to your favorites list? Try putting together a look with those products to see if you’ve changed your mind. (And If you don’t like it, you have nothing to lose because you can just wipe it off since you aren’t going anywhere.)
