Some time ago I shared my favorite high end skin care products. While I’d love to always give myself the finer things in life, I must be kind to my wallet. But also, more expensive doesn’t always mean better quality. Here are some brands proving that you can have flawless skin for an affordable price!
Pixi Beauty
I first learned about this brand from none other than, you guessed it, Jackie Aina, a few years ago. She was a supporter of the brand’s Glow Tonic and Glow Mud Mask so I thought I’d give it a try. The Mud Mask actually left my skin feeling like it had been purged of dirt and impurities. The Glow Tonic is a true cult favorite. The brand has numerous products across both makeup and skin care. I typically find it in Target where there is always plenty to choose from. Because there’s a chance that you can be overwhelmed by options, do your research ahead of time to find out which products will meet your needs.
Peach Slices
If you stay updated with my Instagram stories, you’d know I incessantly mention this mask. I stumbled across Peach Slices and their masks when I went out a whim before a trip and bought their travel mask from CVS. It was the first time I had ever tried a sheet mask and the changes on my skin were immediate and immense. Once I found out it was a K-beauty brand, it all made sense because they don’t play when it comes to skin care. Their sheet masks come in different types, such as “hydrate”, “firm”, “brighten”, “calm”, “shrink pores” and “clarify, meant to target various concerns. I typically find the sheet mask in the travel aisle of CVS, but since I’ve been speaking out this mask a lot, others have reached out to me and shared that they’ve been able to find some Peach Slices products in Target as well.
Cetaphil
When I initially created this list, Cetaphil didn’t come to mind as a drugstore brand that I love. Hear me out though. You know how there are steady, constant forces in your life that you don’t acknowledge that you love, but if you thought long and hard about it, you realize you need them? So yea, Cetaphil is that force for me. I’ve been using the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser since I moved away for college and needed to get products other than my mother’s to rely on. While this cleanser is not my main everyday face wash, it is a crucial second step face wash in my makeup removal process. You can easily find these in travel and value sizes at most pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, and Target.
Olay
I started this post with a Jackie Aina recommendation and I’m ending this post with one. I don’t know why it took me so long to get one the Olay wave. This past fall when I was suffering from serious hyper-pigmentation after a massive breakout, I turned to the Olay Luminous line for some help. It worked pretty well for my skin and I shared my full thoughts about it in my post on hyper-pigmentation. There are various lines of Olay that cater to various skin care needs. I’ve also heard a lot of great things about the fairly recently launched Olay Mist which I’ll hopefully be trying out soon!
Final Thoughts
I’ve learned through experience that you don’t have to compromise affordability for quality. The most important thing you can do is give your skin the TLC it deserves! What are some affordable skin care brands that you love?
