My Law School Bedroom Tour

I’ve finally pretty much settled in to my new apartment for law school. That of course means it’s time for a tour. A lot of the visual details you’ll find in the YouTube video, but I’ve also included a lot of the details of products in my room here.

Keep reading to see how I took my room from this…

…to this:

Bedding

  • Headboard: I wanted to add a decorative touch to the bed so I got a simple headboard to fit with the all white theme of my bed and room.
  • Duvet Set: I loved this duvet cover because even though it was white, the polka dots added a bit if texture to the bedding.
  • Bedskirt: Because my room is relatively small, I knew I’d be hiding a bunch of things under my bed. I got a bed skirt to cover this all up. When you’re getting bed skits, it’s important to pay attention to their size. I ended up needing to buy three panels— two to cover one long side, and one to cover the foot of the bed.
  • Throw Blanket: This blanket also added texture to my bedding while still fitting with the all white theme. It’s SO comfortable.
  • Pillows: Besides regular sleeping pillows I added some (you guessed it) white throw pillows. The goal was also to add texture so I opted for a fur pillow which is already linked and a pom pom pillow.

Closet

To see visuals of the actual closet, check out the Youtube video!

  • Fabric Storage Bins: My closet came with a wall of shelves and I figured the best way to utilize it in a that would be visually appealing would be to fill it with storage bins.
  • Shoe Rack: An affordable rack that was easy to put together and had dimensions that worked perfectly for the space I had in my closet.
  • Hanging Organizer: I got crafty with space and was above to fit more clothes, including some I didn’t want to hang, into this hanging organizer from the Container Store.
  • Double Hanger: This hanger from the Container Store was a LIFESAVER when it came to creating more space in my closet.
  • Hamper: I originally wanted the Poppin Hamper from the Container Store but it was just too expensive for me to justify buying. This one from Bed Bath and Beyond comes pretty close to what I was going for and it comes with a lid and liner.

Decor

  • Curtains: I knew there was no way I could exist in this room if I didn’t cover the ugly metal grate over the window. I opted for two types of curtains. This sheer one from Room Essentials via Target, which is what I originally bought, wasn’t enough because I could still see the grate through it. I ultimately got a thicker one from Target by Threshold. To hang them, I placed a small tension curtain rod on command hooks.
  • Rug: This white shag rug made all the difference for my room. I know rugs can be expensive but luckily I got it on sale for $80
  • Framed Posters: The posters added a touch of color. I bought two plants ones, the letter E, and a map of Manhattan from Desenio. I framed them with the Fiskbo frame from Ikea. Both the posters and the frames were 50cm x 70cm.

Vanity

Last but not least… Sorry to burst your bubble but I’ll be sharing the details on my beauty desk in a separate post on video. That one deserves its own post. Stay tuned for that and in the mean time, check out this Youtube video:
